Dermatology
Worried about a mole, a lump or a stubborn skin problem? Our GPs have extra training in dermatology, so most things — from mole checks to minor skin surgery — can be assessed and, where needed, treated here in one visit, without waiting on a hospital referral.
Between them our team of doctors have extra training in General Dermatology, Dermoscopy and Minor Surgery, meaning we can solve most of your skin problems in house.
How the clinic works
You’ll be seen by one of our doctors with additional dermatology training, who’ll examine your skin closely using a dermatoscope where apprropriate. Most people can be seen within a week, and if something needs treating or removing, we can often do it here in our own treatment room — no separate hospital appointment, no long wait. If we find something that needs a Consultant Dermatologist we can organise the referral onwards.

Before your appointment
Jot down anything you’ve noticed changing, and please come with the area free of make-up or plasters so we can see it clearly. If a mole is worrying you, photograph it now — it gives us something to compare against on the day.
If a mole has changed in shape, colour or size, or has started to itch or bleed, please don’t wait — book in and let us take a look. Most turn out to be nothing serious, but it’s always worth checking. Just ask for a Skin Clinic appointment or for Dr Klaber, Dr Worth or Dr Le Grelsey
Minor Surgery
Any minor surgery is done under local anaesthetic, so you’re comfortable throughout. Any skin lesions of concern that we remove are sent to the laboratory for analysis, and we’ll call you with the result as soon as it reaches us.

Appointments
Call reception on 01534 733322, or book a routine doctor appointment yourself through Patient Access once we have set you up for online access. Specialist clinics and nurse appointments are booked over the phone.
-
Chaperone policy
Yes, at any consultation, examination or procedure, and you do not have to give a reason. A chaperone can be a family member or friend, or a trained member of staff. Tell us when you book if you can, so nothing is delayed.

Test results
Routine blood and urine tests take about 3 working days, specialised bloods 10 days, imaging reports 7-14 days , and cervical smears 2 to 4 weeks. Please book an appointment to go through any result rather than asking at the desk unless your GP has agreed to contact you with the result.
It is important that you know the result of a test you have had, so that anything it shows can be acted on quickly. The guide below is how long each kind of test usually takes to come back.

You can ask us to email or SMS your results to you instead. It needs your written consent first, and we cannot enter into further discussion of a result by email once it has been sent.
Our other clinics
Whilst our doctors offer general medicine appointments, we also specialise in a number of areas.
